What to make of the over the top, disgusting display of the MSM (Mainstream Media) and there reaction to the Lamont victory over Lieberman?
This morning I had ther misfortune to here on NPR, of all places, the GOP line that opposition to the Iraq war would hurt Democrats in the Fall elections.
If it were Fox news, that would be easily forgiven; who can expect them to be anything other than what they are: a GOP mouthpeice. But many liberals support NPR, despite its woeful performace during the last few years. NPR has become tepid, timid, tame and terrible.
Some might say Treasonous, as well. Public broadcasting has not had the support of the right wing in this country. It's become a cliche that NPR listeners are "liberal" and/or "elitist".
And, of course, NPR is supposedly funded by listeners, although there seems to be quite a bit of advertising as well. But the listeners are always afforded the top billing....
Why then do we hear on NPR that the Lamont victory will hurt Democrats?
Polls show 60% of Americans think the Iraq war was a mistake. Does NPR suggest Democrats run away from that sentiment?
In fact, as ther reporters on NPR should be smart enough to figure out, the GOP would have claimed advantage if Lieberman had won or lost, becaude they know that the mass media (including NPR) has gotten into the habit of thinking of the GOP as winners and Democrats as losers.
The irony is that the Dems have lost because they were percived as incoherant and timid, exactly the approach that whoever she was (I turned off the radio in disgust before findfing out) on NPR seemed to recommend the Dems had to take to win.
The corporate media will not help us, not even NPR. We are on our own.
Let's let NPR know what that feels like. We don't need them, and if they diappear, it's their own fault, for being lazy, lousy repoters.
I will never give anymore money to NPR and I urge everyone else not to either.
(NOTE: Sotrry for the long time between posts...I have other things to take care of in my life. I'm not a pro pundit< thnk god LOL)
